We are constantly performing research- we just may not be aware of it. We perform research before we buy cars, before we go to the movies, and before we take trips. We research the colleges we are thinking about attending and we research information on football teams and players we enjoy cheering for. In fact, it is not uncommon for a person to perform some sort of research task at least 5 to 10 times a day. Even looking up a phone number in the phone book is a form of research. First you have to know where to look for the phone number and then you have to locate it. It's a simple form of research, but something we have all done many times in our lives.

However, when it comes to the research paper the research paper process, it can seem like a daunting task for some students. Luckily, with the use of effective tools and efficient search strategies, the task of performing research can be a lot less intimidating and can even be enjoyable!
