The goal of Accelerated Reader at CCHS is two fold:
1- to develop life long learners who enjoy reading
2- to improve reading comprehension skills through reading practice
As we all know, readingfosters personal growth. Reading is an integral part of everyday life, from reading emails on a laptop to reading the ingredients and directions to create a meal. Even students who struggle with reading need to have sound basic skills in order to fully participate in society. Encouraging students to focus on their strengths in order to improve reading comprehension and create an enjoyable reading experience instead of a dreaded one is the key!
Accomodations, such as audiobooks and Playaways, are available for students in the Learning Center. These students should contact the library directly for more information.
